Jeff Magruder was a national-class bencher and full powerlifter through the 1980s and early 1990s, competing mainly in the 220 lb and 242 lb classes. Regularly benched in the 500 lb range raw and 600 lb+ equipped, placing him among the elite lifters of his day.
Magruder’s routine wasn’t famous because of hype, it was because lifters could run it again and again and add 15-30 lb to their bench each cycle without stalling or burning out.
