"Bowhunter"is designed in an alternating pattern between physical training days and skill training days. Those physical training days consist of twice daily workouts meant to challenge your body and mind. It should be noted that this program is overkill for the average hunter. Instead, it is meant for those looking to set new standards and hold themselves to higher expectations. Over the years, I've been truly blessed to hunt various states and provinces and can tell you... much of the time spent in rugged country is as much mental as it is physical. "Bowhunter" will challenge both qualities by challenging your level of mental and physical dedication. Will you create a new vision of hunters as athletes who are devoted to all aspects of their craft? Will you choose to reject the thinking of "average" individuals and be something more? Will you harden your body and mind for whatever mother nature throws at you? I cannot answer those questions, but this program will provide an opportunity to see what you're capable of. How you want to live and the journey you choose to take comes down to the person in the mirror. Be average, or stand alone and establish a new standard? The choice is yours.

Physical readiness
Hunting seasons can be long and physically demanding. Sometimes we succeed early when the weather is nice and the pack out is easy. However, there are other times when the complete opposite is true. It's late in the year, cold, and that buck or bull has died in some nasty canyon or deep river valley and now you've got to muster the strength to get him out. Be ready for that challenge.

Mental Toughness
When the alarm goes off and it's raining outside, will you choose to grind it out, or stay in bed? Mental toughness often comes down to a choice between comfort and discomfort. "Bowhunter" introduces that grind by demanding more than typical 45-minute workouts. It's meant to callous your mind so on those days when others stay home, you have the capacity to wake up and get after it!

Fun
Remember how much fun bowhunting is? Or how good you feel after a hard workout? Don't loose sight of that. When your mind and body are healthy, it's easier to push harder, stay on stand longer, and handle more adversity. Hunting should be enjoyable. It's one reason why we're out there. Prepare yourself to handle the demands of a long season before it begins and enjoy the experience!

Coach Corsini owns and operates Wild Ember Outfitters LLC and has taught human anatomy/physiology, chemical, and biological science for over 20 years. He holds advanced degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Leadership, is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, and trains athletes from across the country as his personal clients.
