The game is getting faster every year and you need to be able to keep up to move forward. The starting point of every session is with speed or power training. Your first few strides determine everything.

Being explosive and fast is great but the best players can do that over and over for the entire game. Training different energy systems allows your to recover so that your output can be sustained longer every shift and your able to repeat it late when others fade off.
