This 4 week program will help you get started ! 

The goal of this short program is to help coaches & parents put their athlete(s) through four weeks of training that will keep the kids engaged and excited to train week after week once their season ends. 

There are tons of hand eye coordination drills and speed games baked into these workouts BUT feel free to toss any of those drills in at any time during the workout to keep the kids excited and HAVING FUN ! 

Any time we can make something into a competition, we want to !!! Competition always makes young kids work harder - so the more we can disguise work inside games and races the better ! 

You can use this with your child at home or use it to train with your team during the offseason to put in a little extra work !

HAND EYE COORDINATION X HOCKEY ACADEMY

Set a timer for 8-10 minutes (minimum, you can go as long as you want with these !!! ) and choose 2 or 3 drills to perform during that time - these are also things you can do AT HOME ANY TIME YOU ARE BORED !!! Keep a notebook or a dry erase board at home with your top scores AND ALWAYS TRY TO BEAT YOUR LAST BEST SCORE !!!! SPRINT GAME IDEAS

Rip a few warm up sprints so they are ready to rip followed by MAX EFFORT SPRINTS - if your player is performing this with a teammate or friends then turn this into a game ! Game Ideas : 1 make it a race to a large cone - get in 2 lines - whoever tips the cone first wins - extrinsic motivation (e.m.) 2 ball drop - someone drops a ball to force the kids to run faster to catch the ball before it bounces twice - e.m. 3 partner chase - have player 1 start on 0 yard line - player 2 starts on 5 yard line - player 1 decides whenever he wants to begin the chase - player 2 has to notice when player 1 starts chasing him and has to get to the finish line (whatever distances you want to do this for) before being tagged by player 1 - GENTLE TAGS ! Goal is not to push player 2 over ! 4 math starts - line of a few players on 0 yard line - instruct players only to start their sprint on designated multiples **EXAMPLE - you only start your sprint if the answer is an EVEN NUMBER - then say 5+2
