I once asked a great athlete what they were training for and that was their answer - "to look good naked and be ready for the apocalypse", they added. It stuck with me because I think everyone's program should include that kind of General Physical Preparation (GPP). I believe that a high quality general training program designed to make you a more robust and well-rounded human is the foundation from which all other training programs can be built.
Most people don't want to train strictly like bodybuilders or powerlifters, but too many "functional fitness" programs fail to build a solid base of lean muscle mass and basic barbell strength. Most people don't want to train strictly like sprint or power athletes, but outside of those programs it's rare to see much explosive lifting and plyometric work. Sex & Zombies bridges that gap and gives you a bit of everything. Hypertrophy? Check. Heavy barbells? Check. Explosive speed/power? You betcha. Some odd lifts and plenty of fun? Guaranteed.
When you subscribe to the bundle, you get full access to all of my programming tracks. Here's how it works.
Step 1: Choose a strength program. These update weekly with fresh training. I incorporate just the right amount of variety to keep things fun & interesting without it feeling chaotic.
S&Z - 3 Day - Basic Gym: This full body program is designed for people training 3 days per week out of a home gym or gym with minimal equipment. Basic machines are used very sparingly and I'll always include home/garage gym options so that you can follow this program with free weights only.
S&Z - 6 Day - Full Gym: This high frequency lower/upper split is designed for people who go to the gym 4-6 times per week with access to a wide range of equipment. Train 4 days? Just do days 1-4. Train 6? Do the whole thing. It's well balanced & designed to work great either way.
You can swap back and forth between different programs at any time!
Step 2: Choose a conditioning program
Instead of choosing a single track to follow indefinitely, I have TONS of conditioning programs to choose from including run programs for every distance (mile through marathon) & fitness level (beginner to advanced) and other goals like heart health. You can repeat these programs again and again or keep trying new ones as your fitness and goals evolve.
