The Harman Winning Factor Method
Inspired by the Winning Factor System developed by John Schaeffer
The Harman Winning Factor Method is my adaptation of the principles introduced by legendary strength coach John Schaeffer, creator of the Winning Factor training system. His progressive approach to strength development has helped countless athletes build muscle, increase strength, and avoid the plateaus that often come from chasing heavy weights too soon.
Using those proven principles as the foundation, I've tailored this program to fit the athletes I coach every day. The result is a structured 13-week progression that emphasizes movement quality, consistency, recovery, and long-term progress over quick fixes.
I believe strength is earned through disciplined effort, smart programming, and showing up week after week. This program reflects those values.
The Philosophy
Strength isn't built by lifting the heaviest weight you can today.
It's built by preparing your body to lift more tomorrow.
The Harman Winning Factor Method progressively reduces repetitions while increasing intensity over 13 weeks. Each phase builds upon the previous one, allowing your muscles, connective tissue, and nervous system to adapt before asking for more.
The goal isn't simply to get stronger—it's to become a stronger athlete for years to come.
The Progression
Weeks 1–3 • 15 Repetitions
Build the Foundation
Develop movement quality, muscular endurance, and work capacity while preparing your body for the heavier weeks ahead.
Focus
Technique
Consistency
Time under tension
Building healthy movement patterns

Efficient movement
Week 13 • 6 Repetitions
Peak Week
This is your opportunity to showcase the strength earned over the previous twelve weeks.
Focus

Explosive intent
Confidence

Recovery Matters
Progress doesn't happen during the workout.
It happens because you recover from it.
That's why recovery days are programmed with the same purpose as training days.
Recover well by:
Prioritizing sleep.
Eating enough protein and quality carbohydrates.
Staying hydrated.
Walking or performing light cardio.
Spending time on mobility and flexibility.
The Harman Principles
✔ Master movement before increasing weight.
✔ Progress is built through consistency—not perfection.
✔ Perfect repetitions create lasting strength.
✔ Recovery is training.
✔ Leave your ego outside. Bring your effort inside.
✔ Trust the process.
Acknowledging the Foundation
The Harman Winning Factor Method would not exist without the work of Coach John Schaeffer. His Winning Factor system demonstrated how structured progression, patience, and intelligent programming can produce exceptional long-term results. This program honors those foundational principles while incorporating my own coaching philosophy, experience, and the needs of the athletes I have the privilege to coach every day.
Coach Corey's Final Word
"Anyone can work hard for a day. Champions are built by showing up consistently, trusting the process, and refusing to skip the steps. Strength isn't found at the end of the program—it is built in every rep along the way."
