Alex Gaynor is a full time coach for us here at SoCal Powerlifting. He has been a part of SCPL since 2018 and has coached hundreds of lifters from beginners to those gracing the podium at the highest levels of competition. Alex has a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology from Chapman a prestigious university located in Southern California.

FAQs
Who is this training for?
This programming is written to accommodate lifters of all experience levels. Whether you're new to barbell training in general or a seasoned competitor, you'll make progress on this plan.
How do you write one program for everyone?
While training is by no means one-size-fits-all, the use of autoregulation allows you to make adjustments to the program on the fly and stay on track. We rely on Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) to allow you to adjust the load as needed based on your individual strength, skill, and recovery.
Is this for powerlifters only?
While this training program is based around the squat, bench press, and deadlift it includes a variety of accessory work as well to ensure you are a well rounded athlete. We incorporate a variety of hypertrophy-focused, functional, and strength exercises to get you jacked and strong.
What if I miss a day?
If you're able to make it up within the same week, we recommend doing so. If it starts to bleed into the next week just skip it and move on.
What should I expect on an average training day?
You'll often begin your training with either a traditional squat, bench, or deadlift or a close variation of one of these. From here you'll move to accessory work meant to increase your strength on this lift. This will include a variety of dumbbell, machine, and cable work.
