The hardest part of being a fighter is staying in shape year and being able to take a fight at a moments notice and still feel like you are ready to go.
Most fighters have no consistency out of camp and then begin to panic when they get a date in 6,8 or even 10 weeks time.
The problem with this is that if your body is not ready to cope with the demands on your fight camp then you risk breaking down and getting injured.
You may not even make it to the fight full stop.
This is where the 3+3 approach in my Fight Camp Conditioning program comes in.
The 3+3 approach means we alternate between 3 weeks periods of 'off-camp' programming and 3 week periods of 'fight camp' programming.
This means that you are never far from peak performance.
The off-camp periods are designed to prepare your body for the demands of the fight camp and reduce the risk of injury, whereas the fight camp blocks are all around improving the physical qualities that will allow you to dominate in the cage.
