FAQs
How many days per week is the program?
The program provides a full 7-day structure built around Tuesday and Thursday football training and a Saturday game. This includes two gym sessions, speed and conditioning options, an optional Friday primer and Sunday recovery.
Do I need to train every day?
No. Not every day is a hard training day. Rest, recovery and managing fatigue are part of the program. The weekly structure is designed to balance training with being ready to perform on Saturday.
How long are the gym sessions?
Allow approximately 45–60 minutes for your main strength sessions. The optional Friday primer is much shorter and is designed to leave you feeling sharp rather than fatigued.
What if my football training or game schedule is different?
The program is built around a Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule, but the same principles can be adjusted around a different training or game day. The key is maintaining appropriate spacing between your main strength sessions and game day.
What if I miss a game or only play limited minutes?
The program includes optional conditioning top-ups that can be used when your match or training load has been lower. You don't need to add conditioning simply for the sake of doing more.
Do I need a fully equipped gym?
Access to a standard gym is recommended, including a squat rack, barbell, trap bar, dumbbells, bench and cable/machine equipment. Exercise alternatives can be used where specific equipment isn't available.
What if I'm sore or fatigued?
Listen to your body. In-season training needs to be flexible. Reduce the load or volume when required rather than forcing a session just because it's programmed. Significant pain or injury should be assessed appropriately before continuing.
Will this make my legs heavy for game day?
That's exactly what the program is designed to avoid. Volume is deliberately managed across the week, with the main strength work completed earlier & training reduced as you approach Saturday. The goal is to maintain strength & performance without carrying unnecessary fatigue into the game.
